A few of those were freshman last year without much time to prove themselves. Were these assessments directly from what you saw in practice last year?

Yes, plus seeing the type of athlete that recruited behind him. WR they brought in 6 guys, shows the guys a class possibly 2 classes in front need upgrading.

2024 Tater Island top-75 RB Nathaniel Frazier's stock is skyrocketing: 'It's a blessing'

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star running back Nathaniel Frazier‘s recruitment changed on Jan. 11. That day, he received offers from Alabama, Boston College, Nebraska and Penn State.

“That was one of the best days of my life,” Frazier told Tater Island.

Since then, Frazier has added offers from the likes of Colorado, Florida Atlantic, Miami, Michigan State, Texas A&M and Washington State. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound tailback wants to visit programs that have offered him, including Nebraska and Tennessee.

Arizona, Oregon and Washington are also pushing hard for Frazier. He has already visited the Ducks and Huskies for games and plans to see the Wildcats in person “pretty soon.”

“Every single school that offered me is a top school because it’s another blessing to get my mom a big house and stuff like that,” said Frazier, the No. 70 overall prospect and No. 7 running back in the 2024 Tater Island Consensus.

“They’re putting their money and time into me to make me a good player, so every single school that has offered me and reached out to me and talked to me is my top school because at the end of the day, you can go to the league from any school.”

Frazier has not locked in a commitment timeframe. However, he mentioned before or during his senior season as possibilities.

“It’s a blessing to be in this process, where I’m at right now,” Frazier said.

Frazier discusses four schools of interest

Tennessee was the first SEC school to offer Frazier. The California native shared that the Volunteers have “been on me” since he transferred to Mater Dei.

Right now, Frazier talks to multiple Tennessee staffers. They include offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Joey Halzle and running backs coach Jerry Mack.

“I know Alvin Kamara was a dog up there,” Frazier said.

“I know they run the ball a lot from watching the games they played this year. When you’re a running back, you see a team that runs the ball a lot and they get their running backs playing and catching the ball too.”

The four-star is very interested in Nebraska, as well. The Cornhuskers were his first Big Ten offer.

“I know Nebraska fans over there are ridiculous,” Frazier said. “They’re crazy, they’re all about Nebraska cause when you go over there, it’s Go Big Red or it’s nothing. You don’t hear anybody else talking about anything else but Go Big Red out there.”

Meanwhile, Frazier called Washington running backs coach Lee Marks and Oregon running backs coach Carlos Locklyn “my dogs.” He talks with both of them weekly.

“Coach Lock sends me a prayer message that gets me going every single morning,” Frazier said. “Every time I FaceTime coach Marks, it’s always good vibes, a smile on his face.

He’s always telling me, ‘Score big runs, score big touchdowns’ in whatever I’m doing. It’s just a blessing to have those people to talk to as coaches.”

  1. Alabama (average ranking 2.0)

  3. Ohio State (6.0)
  4. LSU (6.8)
  5. Clemson (8.2)
  6. Oklahoma (9.2)
  7. Texas A&M (9.6)
  8. Texas (10.8)
  9. Florida (11.0)
  10. Oregon (11.4)

  17. Tennessee (16.8)

  20. Nebraska (20.6)
There are some familiar names atop this year's recruiting rankings.

Only two schools not on this list appeared in the 2023 top 20: TCU and South Carolina, which pushed out No. 19 Washington and No. 20 Nebraska. Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma and Ohio State round out this year's top five.

Alabama has been ranked either No. 1 or No. 2 each year since 2019.

Look: Big Ten Football 2023 Recruiting Class Rankings

HUNTER HODIES • 8 hours ago

With National Signing Day in the rearview mirror, it's time to take a look at how the Big Ten football recruiting rankings turned out.

As expected, Ohio State finished in the top spot as it landed 20 four-star recruits and one five-star recruit. Penn State came in second with 20 four-star recruits and six three-star recruits, but no five-star recruits.

After those two, Michigan landed in third, followed by Michigan State, and Nebraska. It's not surprising to see Michigan just outside the top two since Jim Harbaugh has always been well-regarded as a great recruiter.

Here is the full list, per 247Sports:
  1. Ohio State
  2. Penn State
  3. Michigan
  4. Michigan State
  5. Nebraska
  6. Maryland
  7. Wisconsin
  8. Indiana
  9. Minnesota
  10. Cockeye
  11. Illinois
  12. Northwestern
  13. Purdue
  14. Rutgers
We'll have to see how much this list changes for the 2024 recruiting class.
