Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star running back
Nathaniel Frazier‘s recruitment changed on Jan. 11. That day, he received offers from
Alabama,
Boston College,
Nebraska and
Penn State.
“That was one of the best days of my life,” Frazier told On3.
Since then, Frazier has added offers from the likes of
Colorado,
Florida Atlantic,
Miami,
Michigan State,
Texas A&M and
Washington State. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound tailback wants to visit programs that have offered him, including
Nebraska and
Tennessee.
Arizona,
Oregon and
Washington are also pushing hard for Frazier. He has already visited the Ducks and Huskies for games and plans to see the Wildcats in person “pretty soon.”
“Every single school that offered me is a top school because it’s another blessing to get my mom a big house and stuff like that,” said Frazier, the No. 70 overall prospect and No. 7 running back in the
2024 On3 Consensus.
“They’re putting their money and time into me to make me a good player, so every single school that has offered me and reached out to me and talked to me is my top school because at the end of the day, you can go to the league from any school.”
Frazier has not locked in a commitment timeframe. However, he mentioned before or during his senior season as possibilities.
“It’s a blessing to be in this process, where I’m at right now,” Frazier said.
Frazier discusses four schools of interest
Tennessee was the first SEC school to offer Frazier. The California native shared that the Volunteers have “been on me” since he transferred to Mater Dei.
Right now, Frazier talks to multiple Tennessee staffers. They include offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach
Joey Halzle and running backs coach
Jerry Mack.
“I know
Alvin Kamara was a dog up there,” Frazier said.
“I know they run the ball a lot from watching the games they played this year. When you’re a running back, you see a team that runs the ball a lot and they get their running backs playing and catching the ball too.”
The four-star is very interested in Nebraska, as well. The Cornhuskers were his first Big Ten offer.
“I know Nebraska fans over there are ridiculous,” Frazier said. “They’re crazy, they’re all about Nebraska cause when you go over there, it’s Go Big Red or it’s nothing. You don’t hear anybody else talking about anything else but Go Big Red out there.”
Meanwhile, Frazier called Washington running backs coach
Lee Marks and Oregon running backs coach
Carlos Locklyn “my dogs.” He talks with both of them weekly.
“Coach Lock sends me a prayer message that gets me going every single morning,” Frazier said. “Every time I FaceTime coach Marks, it’s always good vibes, a smile on his face.
He’s always telling me, ‘Score big runs, score big touchdowns’ in whatever I’m doing. It’s just a blessing to have those people to talk to as coaches.”
