I had Cooper pegged to be the new CBs coach in the Defensive Staff Breakdown. Check out that post for a bit more insight on him and where all he has been.

He is a solid hire. I wouldn't expect him to be Recruiting Coordinator unless we miss out on Robinson and Mickey leaves.
I’m not a fan of the best recruiter being a recruiting coordinator. Leave that to the most organized assistant.
Also it’s probably an insult to Mickey if they slap the recruiting coordinator tag on him. He’s more than that. He’ll be associate head coach or whatever he was before frost was fired and passing game coordinator

My assumption is "recruiting coordinator" is just a title we give a guy so we can justify paying him more money as most of the recruiting coordinator job can be handled by in house support staff. In practice I think you'd want a guy like Vince Guinta running everything behind the scenes leaving coaches to do the actual recruiting and of course coaching

Yeah, I think a lot of fans misunderstand what the job of recruiting coordinator is.

It’s hard for me to agree when Schumann has had the best talent in the country to work with his whole career. He won’t have that talent at Nebraska.
Collins was Scott Frost levels of bad at Georgia Tech the past 4 years. 10-28. Could the last 4 years hurt his reputation at all? Fair question. They certainly did Frost’s.

It’s fair to talk about the good and the bad with all these guys

I don't think so. As the head of the program, absolutely. As an assistant coach, no

Collins wouldn't be HC here. I'm not sure what his record at GT has to do with anything.

Not as a DC. He was good everywhere he went and had less talent to work with. Some guys shouldn’t be head coaches. It doesn’t mean they aren’t a good coordinator.

If stink as a HC should have stuck to anyone it was Mike Locksely(pre.this MD run) and he was one of the best crooters in the biz after his terrible failure as a HC

Hopefully the fans of whoever hire Scort as an OC think the same. Who cares bout his HC record- doesnt matter
