This is my unofficial list. We are at 70 schollies. I removed guys who were recognized on senior day and I know some could return we'll add them later again if needed. I also tried to keep up with any position changes. I did my best for redshirt usage. Let me know if you see a mistake and I'll correct my list. We have 26 known incoming commits. That would put us at 96. The number to hit is 85 by fall camp 2024. We also know that the coaches get creative with NIL walkon "scholarships" as a way to smooth over the numbers.Screenshot_20231125-203424~2.png

Don’t need IGC, Rhamir Johnson, Gabe Ervin, Jeff Sims, or Jacob Hood back

Reasonable estimate for the '24 class is 28 :26, less Prude, plus RB, plus Brix, plus Tre Richardson.

Can still cut but the pool is small given 23s, 24s, and transfers can't be cut.

Take your 70, less 12 (I think) transfers, less 27 class of 23s, leaves 31 guys who could be cut. 98 guys plus, let's say 3 transfers this winter, is 101.

So 16 guys need to come of the 31 and any guys processed or who willingly transfer from the 27 2023s and existing transfers.

here are 6 guys who I expect will get cut if they don't transfer on their own

Appleget
Tagaloa
Stenger
Buckley
Rollins
Kpai

here are six guys in the pool of guys who technically could be cut that I expect will be on NIL if they stay.

A Bullock
Boerkircher
Robinson
Wright
Benhart
R Johnson

4 more could come from 23s leaving (Safeeulah? Fields?), QBs leaving, Injury (Ervin?), misc. departures. Each additional portal guy over 3 or freshman over 28 requires one more.

Robinson already said he’s coming back and I expect Bryce to as well. You’re not going to give them a reason to transfer and fuck with a scholarship.
Yeah if they can keep what can return of the DL and OL in tact, they'd be crazy to mess with it.

Love you @Carm , but you’re out of your mind if you think that Ty Robinson, Wright, and Benhart won’t be on scholarship if they want to be here.
I'm out of my mind, I guess. They only need to be here a semester. Ty will likely be preparing for the NFL draft after the season.

Seriously, why should they care? If the NIL is increased enough to make you whole economically, the scholarship does nothing for you in year 6 as you no longer need a guarantee for the following year. You'd think they would want to help rebuild the program.

It would be by mutual agreement - I am not suggesting they force them into it.

The guys that would need to get cut to keep them are likely their friends.

I seriously doubt they'll be offended. They know the situation and how difficult the numbers are.

People do weird things when you take away something they feel they've earned. Like I totally get what you're saying where if they're made whole with NIL who cares? But people be out there peopling

This off season, everyday is nut cuttin' day imho. Show up or show yourself out the door.

Is there another thread that talks about any coaches we think might be shown the door? Or is this year a gimme for them?

Then don't do it with them.
