DR15

Is it DR15's fault that 5 guys can't make a fucking tackle on 72 yd reception?.

Edit- Thats Rhule's fault because he does't like Tony White.. Then we didn't shake hands. All that after SWAT wouldn't let people pray on the 50 yd line of a field turf. ***INTERSTING****
Please make fun of our stupid fans more. I love this

I remember him missing a deep throw in the first quarter. Am I forgetting another egregious missed throw?

I think sometimes people forget that he’s not going to have a 90% completion percentage.
I wouldn’t expect his percentage to be that high but missing wide open throws sucks.

There was one other to the sideline where one of his tight ends was wide open. Maybe just the 2 mentioned here but I think both were big opportunities.

He looked very comfortable and in command of Holgerson’s offense.

For me, seems like main things he needs to work on are very fundamental. Ball security, not being lazy on his fakes, just really basic QB stuff. Which is surprising considering he has been working with QB coaches his entire life.

True freshman playing on a team that hasn’t been bowl eligible since he was 10 (or somewhere around there), playing for 2 completely different OCs ion the year.

Pretty tough conditions. I think he’s got a bright future.

Friday was probably the first game of his life played below freezing

Holgerson’s scheme was there and was dicing up Cockeye for the majority of the game. It was extremely frustrating to watch players piss down their legs.

It should have never come down to a last second field goal as we should have been up double digits heading into the 4th quarter.

Make the field goal to start the second half and it’s all over but the crying.

That Cockeye team was out-played, out-coached, out-physicalled, and quite frankly didn’t deserve to win on every play but 2 (maybe 3) in that game.
That's what's made it hard to get over. Literally have woke up in the middle of the night thinking about it the last two nights. I have a standing bet with a cuckeye buddy on this game every year and his standpoint continues to be that they are just better and they just beat us up and down the field. Can't really say anything back. They've won 9 of the last 10, no matter what it looked like for 58 out of 60 minutes.

Dana was feeling it early.

Curious as to how many tPBers have played QB at a D1 level or at least above their high school wishbone offense level back in 1984?

A freshman QB, who while very highly touted, has played on a team that hasn’t won more than 5 games in what, 8 years, had two OCs and some suspect skill position support…and still completed roughly 70% of his passes…seems pretty solid.

Of course a freshman QB will have some struggles. Of course a freshman QB will be at a disadvantage when his OC doesn’t put him and the team in quality out come situations consistently.

I don’t like 6-6…and Raiola isn’t the problem.

Completely stumps me with some of the crazy takes.

He isn’t perfect, he made mistakes as a true freshman will in the B1G, has development that needs to happen (and appears will under Dana), and he did well considering everything he was faced with.

We got what we bargained for going for the long term play (Raiola) over the short term play (Honda Accord)

Lloyd had that guy beat by 1 or 2 steps. Kind of surprised we didn’t go back to it later on.

I am surprised we didn’t take many shots.

I will say though, and @Faux Sean Callahan and I have been talking about this a ton, but there were about 3 plays that increase your total yardage and points and they were all there schemed up perfectly and we missed them.

1) Lloyd bomb
2) Sail route to Fidone
3) Neyor’s drop

Dana was feeling it early on in that game and he had Phil Parker completely guessing. Thats one thing Faux and I have talked about but I don’t think has been mentioned here; but Dana > Parker.

There was nothing Cockeye did on these three plays to stop us as they were totally fucked on all 3 of them. It was perfectly called.

Players have to make plays.

I was told by several smart posters on here that we lost because of Raiola
We lost because of 6 really bad mistakes, Raiola was a part of 2 of them.

- The muffed punt disaster
- The bad snap on the missed FG
- Neyor dropping a pass that would have put us in FG range
- Raiola overthrowing Lloyd for a TD
- Raiola's fumble on a strip sack where Benhart whiffs.
- The inability of the defense to tackle Johnson on that one play.

Any of those don't happen and we would have most likely won. Amazing collection of bad plays and they all had to happen for Cockeye to squeak out a win.
