Lied is one thing but $Dean's blatant covering up for Frost & ABM really hurt the Husker Program. If he had any journalistic integrity he would have been more concerned with reporting what was truly happening with our program instead of being a bought off asset. He showed me that he is more concerned about his rise to power and making money over being a respected journalist.
This is the unfortunate reality of what sport journalism is trending towards: recruiting website owners that both want clicks as well as being subservient to the schools they cover.
As traditional local media outlets fold or tighten resources, we'll be stuck with the Deans of the world giving us info. It's not journalism but message board fodder. You also find that the traditional media outlets are trying to be more like the recruiting sites because they need the traffic.
The OWH and LJS were not always great at what they do, but they were more likely to call out BS and actually know how to write articles and aren't strictly fanboys.
