McGuire is a smart young guy with a lot of knowledge and attributes he can help the team with, including recruiting. Probably just not ready to be a P2 position coach yet.

If he's willing to take a demotion and stick around, I'd be happy with that. Surprised if it's a realistic possibility.

Texas Tech has a WR position available so it could be he was asked to backtrack some info. Purely a guess, but wouldn't be surprised with Rhule's relationship with the family.

At this point, I remain totally unconvinced that a dedicated ST coach makes that much of a difference (short of hiring someone like LaVar Woods). We have paid so much attention to it as a program (remember all the articles on Daniel fucking Cerni) going on 5 seasons and it's pretty much the same product. We have an occasionally shitty defense, a frequently shitty offense, and unsurprisingly ST are somewhere in between that. If the guy can recruit, idk that the VORP on the field is that significant v. Foley.

Though Dean is saying there was a team meeting at 5 p.m. tonight and all asistant coaches were there except for White.
Knighton and McGuier were there. But, as speculated, that don't mean his role won't change.
