Breaking Dana Holgerson Joins NU Staff As Consultant - “Role Will Evolve As Season Goes On”

Happy Rick James GIF

Something worth watching.
Holgs is great friends with Bill Bedenbaugh(teammate at Cockeye Wesleyan)

He’s one of the best OL coaches in cfb but he could end up being collateral damage this season.

If you also fire the ST coach you can hire a we coach or rb coach to also do ST.

Have Bedenbaugh help coach OL but also focus on bigger picture schemes.
You could bring him in as a Running Game Coordinator/OL or something like that. Not sure how common it is to have multiple ACs working with the OL tho.

I think with the new staff rules it doesn’t matter as much. And Nebraska has the money to spend to make things like this happen if they want it too

From what we heard here and I hope I’m not committing a TPB crime as this was said in DM, but Holgerson would have come here last year when he was on campus if it were for a clean OC title and not a Co.

If I had to guess, this is your OC next year. He’s worked with WRs a lot. So I think you’ll get Holgerson as your OC/WR coach and we’d hire a new TEs coach as that spot would be the vacant one.
How is he as a WR recruiter?

Schools are still only allowed those 10 “official” coaches though. Would it make sense to double up on a position group like that since there is very little chance Uncle Donnie is going anywhere? Obviously from a fan perspective I’d love it, but does it make sense logistically?

Does anyone have details on Houston's collapse in his last year? From what I remember, 2023 was a disaster, and he went about .500 overall at Houston(checks out for a Nebraska hire). I know he had success at his other stops.
