Dabo came with the receipts, and you don't wanna miss it

So does the old miss coaching staff not know how to do the back channel tampering that EVERYONE else is using? lol why are they the only ones that other teams are PUBLICLY attacking? In the end I don’t think anything will happen to Ole Miss but it’s just kind of funny.

I don’t think it’s universally back channel, but I do wonder if Ole Piss is just so SEC arrogant that they don’t think it matters.

Dabo going after them I completely get, because he’s hated the portal from day one. Players calling them out is a whole lot funny.

Because they don't care about the rules. They do not believe they will have any repercussions

Also, in the NIL/portal era, what can the NCAA even do? Limit scholarships to a school? 🤣 Can’t the school just take the same amount of “scholarship” players anyway, (105) and just include and extra 50-100k in a handful of players NIL/Revenue package to make up for the NCAA’s scholarship limitations. Kinda hard to limit scholarships when the kids are being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars, in some cases millions.

Also, can the NCAA even legally institute a post season ban anymore? Without 3rd party cooperation? They have no ownership stake in the playoffs, they’re owned by ESPN, can the NCAA somehow force the playoff committee to exclude a team? Or does the playoff committee and/or corporate ownership have to agree to work/cooperate with the NCAA? Maybe the NCAA can ban you from one of the bowls games, but IDK that for sure? But, long story short, I’m not even sure what the NCAA can do that’s significant enough to deter anyone tampering.

That's honestly a fair question. Fines? I dunno. Doesn't feel like there's any real reprecussions.

Take the profit share limit down would be something maybe. Like instead of 20 mil you get 10 for 2 years.

Probably wouldn't matter to the high dollar places that can do near unlimited outside NIL.

Who’s gonna enforce it? Would schools just be on the “honor system” to voluntarily forfeit that revenue? And what would stop them/boosters from making up for that lost revenue on the NIL end?

You wouldn't be able to stop the boosters on the outside NIL. That's why it would probably be meaningless.

The enforcing part would be easy though. AD has financial statements. Doesn't mean they couldnt hide it but would probably get caught in audits.

Oh, I get that. It would be easy to know, prove that a school did or did not pay the revenue penalty/fine. What I’m saying is, what if a school just says… “We’re not gonna pay it, we don’t agree with or recognize your judgments to be valid.” And forces the NCAA to take them court. The team/kid(s) will have already played their season(s) by the time the court case is settled. And if the school loses the case… they’ll probably just be fined and/or have coaches suspended. And hell, the school might win the case when they show that every one is tampering and they weren’t doing anything too much different.

Long story short, what happens if a school just tells the NCAA to fuck off? Probably not much.

That was kind of the Michigan deal. We'll suspend our coach for a couple of games but thats as far as we're gonna go.
