Costco Membership

Here's a list:

The dog food I meant blue diamond sorry
Some folks may not know the origin of the brand name Kirkland. It's for Kirkland, WA, previously the location of the HQ for Costco.

One other item that's a steal is the Kirkland brand French Champagne for $19.95. It's legit good French champagne for more than half the price of Moet, Mumms, Veuve, etc.

It's been at least a decade since I bought cereal, but IME the coffee selection at Costco wins pretty easily over Sam's. Mainly because it's fresher, Sam's carries a bunch of brands that leave shit sitting in a warehouse for fuck knows how long, while Costco has more brands that are decently fresh. It can be a problem with Sam's in general, TBH: I've seen a lot of stuff sitting out on the pallets that's rather close to its expiration date.

One other thing I don't like about Sam's is that the grocery section is too heavy on the junk food. Costco has a better selection there, though on some things I've seen better prices from Sam's.

There are grown ups who buy bulk trash coffee? (100% of inventory at both places)

What’s your go to? I’ve been grinding my own Black Rifle beans and now can’t hardly drink Folgers, maxwell house, McDonald’s (on the road), Casey’s (on the road) etc…..

I never minded a gas station coffee as there is just something about an early morning drive and grabbing one but holy shit did Casey’s go to hell with those new machines.

Anyway…whats the home brew?

I recently got an unanticipated call from my American Family insurance agent wanting to know if I was a Costco member. Yes, yes I am - why? Well, Costco has been private labeling AmFam insurance for a while at a lower cost, and the good folks at AmFam finally realized they were stabbing their customers in the wallet by not providing them with similar pricing directly. So he applied the Costco membership discount to my policies that all renewed early this month and saved my a pretty penny.

Also, holy SHIT at the cost of homeowner's insurance anymore. Thanks, hail damage claims and skyrocketing home sale/replacement/repair costs. I mean, I get it, but cot dam does it suck to shell out a larger wad of cash each and every year for homeowner's insurance. /End-of-rant

I hate going to Costco with a passion but think about that logically. The most common complaint about Costco is that they're busy and Sam's isn't. That's because Costco shit is better than Sam's shit and the majority of the population agrees.

Do people just go to hangout there? People are so weird. Must be the only place you can buy things.

Ole Baron was offered a membership at Costco and if you don't want to be a part of the same exclusive invite only club as me, I think you're probably an idiot

I have an Atlas sub but they've upped the price so shopping around. Lincoln is doodoo for fresh coffee.. Cultiva is ok but way too expensive

Yeah. You can specify the # of bags and they typically roast within a day of ship
Out of curiosity, have you tried Black Rifle? It’s my only experience with a whole bean and I find it to be smooth. I know there’s likely much better out there such as the one you suggested.
I’m curious on how they may compare

I've had it. Its definitely better than the Folgers, etc. And not bad for a store bean.

Biggest issue at that point is the roast date. I accidentally became a coffee snob and fresh roasts are just better

The stuff I buy is a store brand that's basically relabeled Counter Culture (but costs like half as much as regular CC). Good stuff, and as fresh as you're gonna find in a grocery store.

What's become my rule for coffee is that if it doesn't have a roasted-on date on the bag, I probably won't buy it. If they won't tell you how fresh the coffee is, it's probably stale trash.
