Breaking Colorado to the Big 12

The Big 12 could be a really cool conference if they can scoop up all the P5 leftovers and good G5 programs and go with small regional divisions that make sense. Amazing how they were dead in the water and now they're going to absorb the Pac-whatever.

I saw Oregon has a meeting tomorrow. I can see the big 12 giving Oregon/Washington a full payout & short term deal til the next expansion round. Be aggressive & kill the PAC12 then see if u gotta shot at keeping em later.
That would make sense. The only way they get into the B1G is with partial membership status, especially now with the pac 12 essentially guaranteed to collapse.

If it’s Oregon or Washington that means they are getting indication the B1G isn’t happening for them. And I wonder why

My theory is that now that we're in the era of 2 power conferences the Big 10's priority is to expand with teams that encroach on the SEC's footprint. If they can pull UNC and a couple other ACC schools they effectively box the SEC in and keep them a regional conference. As a bonus, blowing up the ACC gets Notre Dame into the Big 10 too

You could merge all the remaining Pac and Big 12 teams together and you still wouldn't have a conference on par with the Big Ten and SEC. The ACC could still become a top-tier conference if they pull in the top remaining B12 & Pac teams, but they can't seem to find the will to do so.

It's so comfy sitting here in the Big Ten watching these ACC/P12/B12 schools fighting for scraps

Big 12 less UT and OU or PAC 12 less USC and UCLA..which one is better?

Sounds like the Big 12 has its shit together re: media deal.

But Oregon, Washington, Utah > K State, Ok State, TCU

I could see Oregon having a good chance of dominating a Big 12 conference with OU and Texass out of the picture and with their donor base and B12 payout. Of course they would have a good chance of dominating a diminished Pac12 too…..but it would have less relevance in a playoff picture than winning the Big 12

The B12 would be a coast to coast league to match the B10
