Colorado Game Week Thread

-- Dartmouth transfer Shane Cokes (1 solo, 3 assisted tackles vs. the Horned Frogs) is their best defensive lineman; he is joined up front by FSU transfer 3* DE Derrick McLendon II (1 tackle vs. the Horned Frogs), Fresno State transfer 2* DL Leonard Payne, Jr. (no tackles vs. the Horned Frogs), and Maine transfer OLB Khairi Manns (1 assisted tackle vs. the Horned Frogs)
Holy shit - DL from Dartmouth, Maine, and 2 star from Fresno St. Our fanbase would be freaking out

Like I said, it could have been an incomplete sample size from the plays I viewed. He could have done well but personally I’ve never seen the appeal in what he brings to the table.

Plus, PFF is for dorks like Deab.
Well, then I am a dork. I like data, even if it is imperfect. I am a PFF subscriber.

All his snaps at G were in the first 3 games last year (222 snaps). His PFFs for Northwestern was mediocre, and his Ga So and ND grades were good - but that could be competition related. We really have no way of knowing how good he is at guard.
We have a tell… it’s that whenever we have a healthy Teddy, Corc takes the starting LG job. So the staff feels he’s a better G, and traditionally better than our other options.

Honestly have to give a lot of credit to Deion for beating TCU with this group.
Yeah, that’s what I was thinking while reading it… they didn’t play like a collection of 2 stars. They played like a Big XII team. Bad defense, good offense.

that was the tell under the last staff.

Do people still hate on Piper? The dude was probably the second best lineman last week behind Scott, and that's with having to make up for shitty play to his left.
Minus the false start that was one of like 3 things that cost us the MN game.......Anthony Grant should not touch the rock this week either.

with Grant it's weird - that was only his second lost fumble in his career at Nebraska (4 total fumbles). 218 carries last year.

Potential coaching malpractice with Travis Hunter though. He's kind of mortgaging that guy's future for CU to win now. There's no way playing 110+ snaps is in anyway sustainable and there's a real risk of a serious injury this year.

Yeah that part sucked, but it's not like he was getting tossed on extra point kicks again. He looked good.
