I don't think he's a 1mil DC at all. People forget that 2021 was really the first decent defense he's had here.

I mean analytically his defenses have improved 19% YOY for his entire time as a DC(UCF & Nebraska). That is why I value him.

I think his defenses have improved each year. This year will be a telling year with the losses of some key pieces. I think he's done a good job of adapting the defense to the personnel, basically moving to more even front and utilizing his dudes up front. Still elements of odd. As long as Rodgers and T-Rob stay healthy, I think they'll still be solid up front.

Secondary will be interesting. They have a lot of great pieces back there on paper, but no clue how they fit together.

If Rogers and Ty have decent improvement you should be fine upfront. You also have Nelson, Blaise, Tannor, etc... who I expect to be used more as DEs.

Agree that this year will tell us a lot. There's a yuuuuge dropoff from Rogers & Ty to their backups so I'm pretty worried about how our DL might perform.

People are excited about them, but they're really raw. Weaver has a lot of work to do - think of Daniels as a freshman and multiply that a few times.

To be fair I've supported every DC Nebraska has had except Diaco. That guy clearly was a scam artist.

I wasn't in that thread, but I caution you on thumping your chest over Chins just yet. I fully expect to see some "fire Chins!!" posts during the 2022 season. Could get ugly for this defense at times given what we are losing and the lack of players capable of filling those roles (right now).

I fully expect to take at least a small step back but he has improved his side of the ball dramatically since he’s been here.
