Pretty confident (wishful thinking) that Atlanta manages to sign Lamar Jackson and trade for Derrick Henry while signing OBJ. Book it.

Just as many as the last time they were good.

Lamar is definitely a talent but he is often injured. 2018 was the last season he played in every game. You sink a quarter billion into him and he loses a step or 2 because of a knee or ankle them you stuck with a huge salary cap hit from an average throwing QB. He has been out for 9 of the Ravens last 21 games and only played 12 games each of the last 2 seasons. He has averaged missing 3 games a season. He's not the biggest or most durable QB and takes a beating running the ball. Cam Newton was a monster compared to him and running the ball so much took a toll on him.

Only once has he been ranked in the Top 10 for QB completion percentages 2019. The other years he's in the 20's & 30's for Qb Completion Percentage. 2019 was an amazing season for him but his numbers have declined mightily the last 3 seasons. In 2021 Lamar was ranked by PFF as only having the 28th Best Deep Ball Passing Metrics, 1 spot ahead of the Jets Rookie QB Zach Wilson. Lamar was dead last in Long Ball accuracy at 22.6% accuracy.

I'd have no problem signing Lamar to a huge 2-4 year contract but not wanting to be going long term 7+ years Guaranteed Contract with his injury history and declining numbers. He's 15-9 over the last 2 seasons with only a 55 QB Rating.

Doesn't seem like a very good plan to announce you're willing to overpay
Desperation. Pure desperation. I mean how else can they get a key player from a team that just won a superbowl and look likely to continue winning superbowls in the near future to jump ship. To a super crappy team no less.
