Chad Morris

never goes well with father/son coach/qb situations

If I'm Chad, I tell my son to do his own thing versus come play for me.

While I would love for a staff overhaul to succeed, history says this entire staff, newcomers included, will be gone in a year. Would suck for a kid to go through NCAA transfer hell because he went to play for his dad at a program during a very delicate year and then lose a year of eligibility if he wants to play elsewhere afterwards.

For all of those thoughts being negative, I'm rooting for this to work. Morris and Joseph would be two hires that would be the right sort of upgrades on paper.

I think Morris knows that too - refused to recruit his son at Arkansas, assigned a staff member to do it.
If we thought the Frost: Martinez bond was too strong and lacked critical thinking, Father:Son might not be what we want either.

He's coaching at Allen High School for goodness sake. That's the top job in Texas High School football. Kyler Murray's alma mater

I've thought since Frost was hired that we need an OC with head coaching experience on that side of the ball. So I can't really complain if Morris is the guy. I doubt he'd be a yes man.

I'm starting to think the Frost:Martinez bond is far superior to any familial relationship.
