CFB Expansion Talk

Pretty shitty that people can't criticize Kevin Warren in public for literally doing a horrendous job because of race......that's pathetic

id like it on record I wasn’t saying that

I was just saying that the media shit storm of firing him after 1 year would not be worth it for the League

Firing anybody after 1 year, especially if that first year was Covid, would look bad.

Heightened level of scrutiny if you fire somebody after 1 year and that person is a minority

not that equal protection laws apply to the Big 10 (even tho 13 of the 14 schools are State institutions) I just mean in terms of media/PR backlash would not be worth it at this time

If he keeps being incompetent (especially if he fucks up expansion) then a firing won’t be as detrimental to the league’s PR

I was directing it towards Tru's post honestly. The fact that he's a minority means some people are afraid to be honest about him. He's bad at his job, I'll say it. In my opinion, the guy isn't a HC, so I'm not sure there's a real "wait and see" approach. He voluntarily tied in politics to sports, while speaking, several times, when all we want to do is watch good sports to escape from the world. He aint havin it. I don't know what the timeline is on CFB expansion or anything but Gene Smith and Barry better not let him screw this up

What I’m saying is having a black AD criticize the commish publicly is the best course of action. If Bill Moos would have done it hes a racist.

Right. And I agree with you and I think that's complete garbage that that is where society is right now. Yet, Kevin Warren says something about Moos publicly and it's fine, totally normal. Dumb

B1G had better grab KU, KSU and ISU and bolster its BBall power base. ISU and KSU have some recent success in Football. I would actually like to see ISU and IA become a conference game and watch the cyclones kick their arse. Cincinnati to make it even?
Other than to grab CU I don’t see another play. On he east coast maybe Virginia but I don’t see that buying any TV market.

Warren is asleep at the wheel....again.
B1G west:
NU
ISU
IA
NU
KSU
KU
MN
WI
NW

B1G east
IL
PUR
IN
MI
MSU
PSU
MD
RUT
CIN ??
It's not about how successful a school is on the field. It's about grabbing the best brands you can to bring in more money.

I’d like to see the B1G go big here, we do know going forward a most likely requirement will be AAU status. (Notre Dame exempt) I’d like to see the B1G raid these PAC’s squads:

USC
UCLA
CAL
STANFORD
OREGON
WASHINGTON
COLORADO

PLUS

Cockeye STATE
KANSAS

Then in 2036 make a play for Notre Dame, Virginia, Duke, North Carolina and Miami.

28 team super conference. Hopefully Nebraska establishes AAU status by then and we have the AAU league now. Taking in over 80-100 mil per school on the athletic side plus with the research grant (current B1G Alliance members, when viewed collectively, conducted a combined total of $9.8 billion in funded research and BTAA libraries own over 110 million volumes) that number should be around 20-25 billion in funded research with the amount of AAU schools associated with the new B1G membership. That’s why AAU status is so big for the B1G (no pun).

I mean is it? Does anyone really know what this will turn into?

At the moment it doesn't look good if this tweet has merit. If there's some truth to it, I'd agree that it's a bit ridiculous. Maybe Nebraska will look like the stupid one if they take PSU, Michigan and OSU as well. I suspect there will be a few leaders that will come to their senses, but then again.....
