Our skill position talent sucked overall, but you can’t get any worse than what we had going on at qb. I have some hope for the young receivers though.Yeah, our QB situation puts us in the bottom half of all the P5s

Is anyone better at identifying transfer qbs? We all know the answer.I think that's extremely valid. In all sincerity, that's the reason why I want him most lol. I trust Riley's evaluation when it comes to QBs.
How dare you speak of bookie like thatWhy do you think no high level secondary players ever go play in the big 12 lol
Just went to look at his running stats which don't really say one way or the other (not a great runner) and noticed this.

He's pretty decent at fumbling. Only about 1/2 the Haarberg rate and 1/4 the Sims rate but I'm sure he'll learn to fumble more at NE.
Hopefully they were fumbled snaps. I love me some fumbled snaps.I would venture a guess that those are strip sack or blind side sack fumbles since sacks count as running plays in college.
2023 stats 61.7% 2,188 yards 13/3That doesn't really answer my question. What do you dislike so much about Shapen?
Be honest - was this information that you based your opinion off prior to me asking you why you don't like him? Or did you look up those stats and come up with that narrative?2023 stats 61.7% 2,188 yards 13/3
2022 stats 63.3% 2,790 yards 18/10
Completion percentage fell in 2023 while throwing roughly 70 less passing attempts. In 2023 when Baylor lost by more then 15+ points (typically meaning playing better opponents) his completion percentage falls to 56% (Yes, probably more pass attempts but still) On plays 3rd & 10 + his completion percentage was 30%. Yes that’s typically means more shot plays with 50/50 balls but I’m listing this to give in idea on his throws when defenses know that the throw must be 8ish yards or more. 3rd/4th & 9 + his completion percentage is 37%. 3rd and 6 + his completion percentage was 52%. Why list these down and distance numbers? Gives you an idea on a completion percentage not being affected by screen passes and or RPO/quick game.
His footwork is average at best and having to go under center is whole new ball game with footwork and feel being completely different. He is pretty damn skiddish in the pocket. Yes, his oline was horrible and everyone knows that but rarely did he step up in the pocket and make a throw knowing he was going to take a shot.
Arm accuracy is pretty decent but the more he try’s to push it down the field it gets substantially worse. Can he dink and dunk? Sure. But I’ve seen enough of us trying to do that over the years. Escape ability is nothing special and neither is him running the football. Is he better than what we got? Yes. Could we get better? Yes. Could we agree to disagree? Absolutely.
Army’s 3rd string qb is probably an improvement.I'm not sure there's a G5 QB out there that isn't better than what we got.
Two seasons ago, I am pretty sure they said, 2022.
