I feel like we are getting set up for a surprise or two. IMO, this past week I felt like Rhule was making some veiled comments and messages for his team. I think he was encouraging some dudes who need to go to jump into the portal. And I also think like he was telling some guys not to do it.

2 deep, very likely yes. Some dudes who want to start are going to hear they're backups going into fall camp, and in today's CFB, you just can't keep all your quality backups.

According to Dean's chart we will be at 132 when the rest of the freshman get there. So even if they go to 115 for fall camp that's 17 that have to go, more if they take anyone in the portal.

But what he said about Seagren, how good of a student he is and being in the prestigous Raikes School, missing football meetings for class, not realizing he's good enough to be a starter, etc., makes me think he's more of a threat to retire from football and focus on school at UNL than he is to transfer out to play football somewhere else.

I hate to say it but I think we can survive a Lenhardt departure, Shavers not so much. Don't want to lose either obviously.

Shavers has leverage. IMO, I think he has All-American Potential. He could become a star, and Nebraska knows it. As for Lenhardt, he's someone they need because of numbers and experience. But I would be very careful about his demands.

If they can keep Shavers for 2025 it will be very difficult to hold on to him Next Winter unless they are openly talking to him.
