Bring A Trailer (BAT) Thread

From last week:

This 1986 Ford RS200 Evolution is one of just 24 examples built for FIA Group B homologation and was acquired by the seller out of Norway in 2017.

Best Comment of the thread:

VolvoguyKC :

“Honey, I just bought a car for $480k.”
“I hope it was a Carrera GT.”

“No, it was an ’86 Ford” (ducks flying dinner plate)

My wife is part Norwegian. Makes sense.

Alas. No Radio:
I can have a Craig Powerplay 8-track pumping out tunes in that bad boy by sundown.

8-track reference seemed appropriate for the vehicle and vintage. I think my 1st investment would be an air-ride seat so as better to enjoy the view while I crush Prius' under my tracks. 😁

Mine Literal Lee fell apart. I had a bunch in a box in storage up until a few years ago. Some guy on CL was looking for a home player to replace the one he kept in his garage, and I thought it might be a good time to unload mine (since I hadn't used it in 40 years). I plugged it into the Hi-Fidelity Stereo, and went to play a tape. It sounded great for about 90 seconds, then it just started dying. I think the capstan roller bearings were shot. The metal tape piece that caused the units to skip to the next level were also coming unglued in all of the old tapes, which is kind of a shame as I had one tape in particular that I wanted to keep: it was a recording made of an old "King Biscuit Flower Hour" session featuring Boston, and they had several songs they played that night that never made it onto an album. Part of my brain thought that was kind of cool to have and perhaps even worth something to old rock-n-roll heads who might be interested in hearing those songs. C'est la vie.

I have 3 cases of cassettes left. Trying to decide on those.

I'll look for the KBFH with Boston online. Unrealeased songs would be surprising knowing Tom...but I beleive you.

And I will listen to the isolasted Brad Delp vocal tracks too. It's been a few months since I've done that.

I saw them live for the first time at the Pershing Auditorium in Lincoln. They were the warm-up band for Black Sabbath that night ... I think. 😎

NICE! Jealous.
I never saw them until the late 80s and the THIRD STAGE tour.
Saw them 2x in the last 8 years or so. But those 2 were without the late great Brad Delp
