I'll second this. I like Twitter but will not understand what compels any adult to follow twenty-something football players to fill their Twitter feed. Even worse for HS recruits. Not a lot of compelling wisdom or thoughts being shared in either case.

Do folks that do then go back and unfollow after they graduate or commit elsewhere or do you just keep building up the follow list? Seems exhausting and a waste of twitter feed cyber space.

Like my post above, don't really know anything about the situation, but in today's societal climate, 99% of the time when people post apologies in that format, it's not really sincere. Athletes/Celebrities/your friend down the block, whatever, got in trouble for something and are being asked to apologize for it so a bigger entity doesn't look bad. People tend to know what they're posting and talkin about as of the last couple years based on all that has happened.
