We put so much recruiting effort into landing him and Manning and they have both turned out to be a gigantic waste of time. Meanwhile Hutchinson at ISU (who we should have pressed for instead of Manning) is a fucking stud.

It's the Nebraska way at this point unfortunately, we also had Nadab Joseph in that class too the #1 and #2 Jucos that year and neither one did jackshit. And 4 star kids there's a long list of those guys that haven't worked out for one reason or another especially if they were from Nebraska.

Whoever the next HC is needs to stop worrying about other teams and focus on getting the right type of players for Nebraska instead of just the getting in the most talented kids even if they likely will not fit in with Nebraska.

Lincoln is 300,000 and the nearest “metro” is suburban sprawl Swimtown. Some 18 year old kids just aren’t gonna like it. I’d rather have a 3 star that’s all in and doesn’t give a fuck that he lives in an ocean of chain restaurants and basic white bitches than a 4 star or 5 star that hates it here and is either one foot out the door or “soft quits” and just does the minimum to stay on scholly and keep getting NIL $$$.



My dream scenario is a college football version of the Cleveland Guardian’s scouting and talent development operation. I don’t care if we run the Military Academy option or my favorite coach Mike Leach comes to Lincoln… if we are humming on identifying the right kids for UNL the system won’t matter.

SARPY COUNTY, Neb. —
Former Nebraska wide receiver Zavier Betts was arrested early Sunday morning in Sarpy County.

According to authorities, Betts was stopped for speeding around 1:30 a.m. by the La Vista Police Department.

The former Husker had a misdemeanor warrant in Cockeye for possession of a controlled substance, according to law enforcement. He was issued a citation but did not show up for his court date.

In March, then-Husker football coach Scott Frost said Betts was “not a member of the team.”

Frost did not elaborate other than to say Betts is not currently part of the Huskers.

In 2021, Betts, a Bellevue West product, had 20 receptions for 286 yards and added three carries for 109 yards and one touchdown in 12 games.
