B1G + SEC Collab

Big ten and SEC execs to this proposal:

I Want More GIF

This seems important:

I don't think this really means anything. It is the same thing as the B1G guaranteeing 4 year scholarships, but can easily extend it to a 5th year if they want. I would think they could easily extend the revenue share for an extra year also if they wanted, but wouldn't have to guarantee that extra year. You could also work it out that if you are redshirting, you don't get any revenue share, and instead only get NIL for that period. There is so much stuff that hasn't been figured out that this doesn't seem like a big deal at all. There was also talk of just increasing the total years of eligibility and eliminating the redshirts completely. It seems they are just trying to get anything at all passed so they can eliminate some of the lawsuits.

This is inevitably going to end in an NU OU matchup. With this big of a change there’s going to be a marketing aspect that wants to satisfy the olds and tradition coalition and the opportunity to give these folks an old OU vs NU matchup for a few years is just too obvious and perfect to pass up.

And it’s really the only current big 10 vs current SEC rivalry that anyone would give a shit about.

Arkansas is the red headed step child of what would be a cool old schoolish division
Would be a great division for us

Old rivalries, geographically close, a trip to Utah every year, and it kind of gets us into the south
