What’s wild to me is college football as a whole has tried to make their product essentially something that is never not in the news anymore with all the lack of rules and scheduling, yet at this point in time I almost do not care or take serious what happens with our own program given how little it makes sense to invest anything due to possibly turnover on any given day
I have to agree...over the last couple of years, my energy has waivered a bit. An overall sense of apathy has set in. It isn't about the results (although they do get me spun up from time to time) either, really just don't feel a sense of investment in the game/team as much. I've given up my season tickets, tailgating spot, and have really pulled back on anything donation related to the university. I was donating to 1890, but since the switch, haven't changed my dollar over the UNL. Just kind of turned off by it all.

I believe players should recognize revenue benefit, but at this point it has just spun completely out of control. No boundaries, no real rules, nothing to guide the game other than a wild wild west approach. Greed and immediate result expectations is all I really see.

It's time for some real rules and guidelines. Something closer to the NFL if you will, than where we are now. I've always been a fan of the NFL (Go Eagles!), but have always appreciated the college game much more. If I'm honest, the current state of college football has me more interested in the NFL now.

Perhaps that will change with the advent of new rules and enforcement in the college game, but I'm not holding my breath.

Here's my opinion on this whole thing. I do think that players should get a little bit of the cut, but no where near what it is at the moment. In no way shape or form do I think any players under professional status in football, should be paid what these kids are getting paid. I don't care what they're rated, I don't care the measurables, I don't care where they went to high school, I don't care the tape, college football players should not be getting paid millions. I think back to me being that age in college athletics, 99% are not prepared for that status.

But, we're here. It's not going backwards. So, pull the band aid off completely, and make it minor league football, with the same transfer/trade rules that the NFL has. This isn't "school" anymore. Separate the two somehow, and treat it like the NFL. Relationships do exist, but let's all stop acting like the schools mean anything to the players, and the players mean anything to the schools. Everyone is a transaction to everyone.

OR

Players can get paid, okay. But the put the hammer down on these transfers and go back to old transfers rules. Maybe 1 during your first 4 years, and 1 once you legitimately graduate. "Grad Transfer".

Truth be told I'm okay with the way coaches can come and go because quite frankly they're adults and that's how it is in the common workforce anyway. Everyone is replaceable at any given time. Not a big fan of the HC contracts honestly, but people come and go with jobs of any status everyday.
