Yeah I don’t think it has anything to do with anyone on the roster. I just didn't we would look at any QBs in the portal and it appears we are at least glancing at a couple.

LB is a mess right now Reimer, Henrich, Snodgrass, and Williams are all either hurt or coming off injuries. Then you have Malcom, Kpai, and Gbayor, I'm guessing 2 of those 3 are gone and then it's down to the incoming freshman. I'm guessing that's why we heard walk-on Bullocks name so much this spring. I'm not sure were Chief fits in right now either is he going to play ILB or OLB.

Add Javin Wright to those four (I know you're talking about LBs and he's a Safety). Him retiring from football wouldn't suprise me, as he dealt with injuries and health issues all the time he's been here.

you have to expect them to kick the tires on a couple of guys. This wouldn't be injury insurance - it's more, I think, to make sure there are enough arms for practice, and for some scholarship distribution in that regard.

The fact that they are even looking suggests that we expect enough attrition (or have the levers remaining to create enough attrition) to be below 85 or there is no point in looking.
