Tywome Malone is an interesting guy but there are red flags. He plays baseball and football. He was the top-rated recruit in Ole Miss' 2021 football class, a top 45 player. Despite that, it appears he has not played a meaningful snap in two years. Last year he played mop-up, mostly in the Central Arkansas, Rice and Vandy games. He didn't break through this spring, although local media said he may make an impact this fall. He has been passed up by 3 stars and two JUCOs. The football coaches say his development is way behind because of the time he spends on baseball. They said he shows great potential "in the time we have him".
In baseball, he is on the team at Ole Miss, and has a reputation of a guy who, if he connects, can hit tape measure HRs that leave the bat at incredible velocities. In the 37 games Ole Miss has played this year, he has 10 ABs, 6 K's, and one hit - a HR.
He probably needs to quit baseball, but the fact he entered the portal suggests he isn't willing to do so.
