I've read several national guys who say that what appears to set this portal period apart from the others is that the 2022 class - just finishing freshman year - seems to be the most highly represented class. Of course, we're only a couple of days in.

Nebraska: “Nebraska reminds me a lot of Boise State, which was one of the things that jumped out to me. The people there are very similar to the people that I grew up around, very hospitable people, very nice people. The other thing is the vision that coach (Matt) Rhule has for Nebraska. Everybody on the staff has either played or worked for coach Rhule. He speaks very highly to the fact that you’re gonna have ups and you’re gonna have downs. He’ll pick you up when you’re down and he’ll always have a spot for you. It’s a relationship that lasts a lifetime, which was a big thing that jumped out to me. They didn’t increase the number of visits schools can provide.

But like NIL I imagine most dudes will end up about where they were before it was legal to take as many as they wanted

Yeah, with the limit on visits a school can offer (which is like 53 or 56 or something) schools are going to be pretty wary of using one of those on a guy taking his seventh or eighth trip, I would think.

It could be more likely to be beneficial if a guy takes five visits and commits, but then there's a coaching change and we wants to look around more.
