Another new Hales follow:

“App State offensive lineman Troy Everett has been named a second-team Freshman All-American by The Athletic.

As a redshirt freshman in 2022, Everett made six starts at center and appeared in 10 games for the Mountaineers, helping the line earn a spot on the Joe Moore Midseason Honor Roll.

Everett totaled 478 offensive snaps and allowed just one sack in 262 pass-blocking snaps.”

Already has offers from Illinois, Mizzou, OU, Maryland, Louisville, and VTech

I find it interesting that we are apparently pursuing guards. The IOL seems to be in better shape than OT. The guys we have interest in are underclassmen, too. They must be looking at scholarship distribution in the room and looking to get guys who may not contribute more than depth for a year or so. If that is the strategy we might take 2-3 OL if we could get them and only 2-3 in the 24 class (we have 5 in the 23 class)

Had to dig this up because of what Nouili said today in the press conference:

" He said he was still able to do “everything” with the team – except practice or play in the actual games. So he was still showing up in meetings, was still around his coaches and teammates and was still on the sidelines on Saturdays."
thanks for posting this or we may never have learned Nouili had knee surgery last fall

we have people following these 5 OTs who entered yesterday (see the chart I posted earlier)

Kapoi from SD ST - Guinta
Roberson from TT - Barthel
Gentry from NC St - DiMichele
Powers from App St - DiMichele
Barlow from TCU - Barthel and Hales

on the DTs we appear to be following three

Bear from Georgia - Hales, Wallace, Callaghan
Blue-Eli from TCU - DiMichele
Alexander from Kansas - Hales & Callaghan
Appreciate the info.

I did a quick perusal of each of those coach's Twitter follows and it does NOT appear that any of these follows are recent (I admittedly did just a quick scan of each one so there's a chance I missed one). This tells me the follows were likely related to their recruitment out of high school or just weren't recruiting related at all.

Obviously, just because the follows weren't recent doesn't mean we aren't communicating with these guys, I would just say it's much less likely.

Interestingly, outside of the three OL the only other recent transfer follows I'm seeing so far are 3 WRs being followed by DiMichele. One is FCS, one is G5, and the other is DII.

That is interesting given we have a significant number of incoming frosh, and the staff seems to like 2-3 of the walk-ons as well. Edrine just entered 4/13 (not sure why he could enter early), but Antonio entered 4/5 and Jackson entered 3/25. Could mean both Jones and Hardy are leaving, might also mean a couple of incoming frosh may have issues qualifying. Might also be that Antonio is being considered as a flex TE - he is 6'4" 220 and was a TE in HS.

Since entering the transfer portal Saturday, Pregnon has already received several Power 5 offers, including from Oregon, Ole Miss, UCLA, Arizona, Purdue and Illinois. Based on feedback shared with On3, there are plenty of other upper-tier teams very interested as well.

“He’s big, he’s powerful, he moves well and he has multiple years (of eligibility remaining),” an SEC offensive line coach told On3. “That’s what everybody’s looking for. I know he’s a weight room guy. He’s just yoked up. Not really any fat if I’m not mistaken. You can tell he’s got a high ceiling, a huge ceiling.”

Lee’s Summit (Mo.) Lee’s Summit North five-star defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri is the nation’s top defensive lineman in the 2024 class, and he’s ready to begin focusing his attention on a handful of schools.

On Sunday, he told On3 that four schools will definitely get official visits from him: Missouri, Oklahoma, Oregon and Tennessee.

Georgia, Colorado, Arkansas and Nebraska are among the contenders for the No. 2 overall prospect in the On300 rankings, but none of those programs have solidified themselves in his top five.
