What he does now is send out questionnaires to a few thousand players in the spring, and travel the country in the spring meeting players and checking players out. From this he builds a publication about top recruits in the entire country which usually is released in the summer. So my guess is that he is seeing a big uptick in players saying they have interest in Nebraska.

No idea but it's provacative

will ferrell idk GIF

Jacob Smith, who visited with his brother Jered on the March 25 weekend, is returning for a second UV this weekend with his mother. They arrive Friday night. Jered is not coming on this trip.

They took 5-6 UVs in March and supposedly decided on 5 officials they weren't making public. The family said the Notre Dame visit at the end of March was the last UV and they were shutting down trips until the OVs. So, this weekend's visit is a surprise.

Although the twins go to HS in CT, they are from North Carolina and their dad is a Marine stationed there.

So just one of the twins is visiting this time? Curious.

I'd love to know the back story on that. Seems a bit odd. Do we know if they want to play together or go to separate colleges?

They've taken every UV together so far. Jacob is an Edge at about 230, Jerod is 265 DL. Besides Nebraska, they have visited Michigan, Georgia, Alabama, Notre Dame and Kentucky this spring. It isn't inconceivable some of these schools wanted one and not the other (Jacob has a slightly higher composite rating but may be a tweener in some D's). They said they were not wedded to a package deal in a YouTube interview when they were here and could go to separate schools. In fact, this 3/26 interview actually was foretelling what is happening now, using hindsight:

Jacob is talking about trying to get back to Lincoln in a month for another visit.

“I would give it a good 8 out of 10,” Jacob Smith said. “It’s tough to pinpoint just one thing. There were so many exciting things that happened this weekend. I am going to see about coming back for the spring game or around that time.”

“It was a 7.5 or an 8 for me,” Jerod Smith said. “I liked everything about it. Nothing crazy, nothing was bad, I liked everything about it.”

We like Jacob as a Jack, and Jerod as a DE.

It could be playing Jack in this defense just sounds more exciting.

Maybe Jacob got laid by a college hottie and Jerod got stuck with her fat friend.
