Yeah, his only path to success was being able to bring in a continual stream of elite athletes (mostly at WR/CB) because of his celebrity & his own athletic success there, while his assistant coaches did 95% of the heavy lifting, and the fundamental team flaws were able to be compensated for by the dynamic play-making.

There have been successful (for a while) circuses before, but Deion alienated way too many people, had an average group of assistants, and no structure in place to replace what they'd be missing as soon as the 2 dudes their success revolved around were gone.

Sanders has had a lot of turn over among the assistants as well, it has been a new team every year.

Deion demoted Pat Shurmur. Didn't he demote Sean Lewis in 2023? Wasn't Lewis highly respected and thought to be an awesome hire at time (and now doing well at San Diego State)?

At some point, don't these assistants have to see through Deion's shtick?
