I could write a fucking book on the stories but would never throw the musicians under the bus like that. Honestly most of the bands/musicians were quite easy to work with as long as you knew how to deal with them.
About the only musicians I had real issues with were Warren Zevon, Vince Neil & Edgar Winters. They were major Diva Pains. Some others were arrogant assholes so those I was professional with them but didn't hang out with them. No reason to waste time getting to be friends with them. Ludicrous pissed me off too as he didn't want to show up for a paid After Party. Told him I was taking the ticket money and buying the entire crowd a round of beers & Jagger Shots with his portion of the tickets. He showed up 15 minutes later. Also Fergie accused me of hitting on her and said she wasn't going to sleep with me. Literally all I did was introduce myself and showed them where the Green Room was. I had this shocked look on my face as she walked by after saying that to me. The rest of the Black Eyed Peas were laughing their asses off so I looked at them and said "alright, anyone of you MF'ers that haven't hit that can laugh at me". They all started looking around towards the ceiling chuckling. We were buddies after that. Cool guys and we tore some shit up that night, and no we did not bring Fergie along with us to party after the show.
For Bands I had to yell at The Wailers, only time I ever came truly unglued on actual band members, as they didn't go out for the Encore because someone brought them some seriously dank weed in the Green Room. Dealing with Wu Tang Klan & Sublime/Long Beach Dub All Stars was always an adventure. It was like babysitting stoned toddlers or herding cats. We were happy if they showed up on time for Sound Check, or even of they were only an hour or 2 late. Sublime/Long Beach Dub All Stars once showed up 9 hours late for sound check, literally 40 minutes before they were supposed to go on stage to perform. And getting those 2 bands on the stage and later off the stage was a true adventure. I almost got into a Fist Fights with the Roadies for Disco Biscuits, manager of Papa Gros Funk and the manager of Ky-Mani Marley. Speaking of Fights, Tone Loc and his band helped me out when I was literally pinned against the stage in a big brawl with 3 yuge Samoan brothers.
Fuck appears I got a bunch more I just remembered. Could go on all day. Loved working in that industry and interacting with all of the big personalities and characters. Never a boring moment.
