49ers

It isn't JUST that they're so complete. It's the style they play. For all the "scheming/playcalling" accolades that Shanahan gets (and deserved) they are physical AF. Last year for the first time in the history of the NFL, 9ers opponents were 0-15 the week after playing them. Look, it was probably 60% "luck" but it certainly was PARTLY because they just played a tough ass football team.

Not to mention on offense they play a style of football that doesn't require you to have the Heisman QB at the helm. I'm not knocking Purdy, I think he's top 10 in the league (have gotten into several arguments about it), but in so many offenses if you don't have a Mahommes clone you don't have an offense.

Yep, it's the style. Backbone of a great running game. With RB's who catch well out of the backfield. WR's who are very good (not the best group of WR's in the league, but they are very good). The best combo TE in the leagu IMO when you consider blocking and big play receiving. And now a QB who is a quick blinker, and is very efficient. Shanahan calls an incredible game - just exactly how I want NU to play offensively.

Defensively, man, what a physical and year in and out consistent defensive team they have been. Different DC's with DC's (and offensive coaches also) getting poached as head coaches. They bring in new players, replacing some great players, and just keep rolling. You gotta give credit to their GM and org in general for the team they keep putting together on defense.

And physical is the word that accurately describes how they play on both sides of the ball. The emasculated Dallas last night. That doesn't happen very often like that in the NFL.

How they play on both sides of the ball is exactly what Rhule, Turd and the program needs to mirror as much as possible. Gotta get enough jimmies and joes, obviously, but a tough, physical team is what we need to hang our hats on.

So you think he doesn't have it easier than at least most if not all of the QB's in the league? I'm not following that first sentence.

Nvm. I see what you're saying.

Personally if I'm drafting I'd absolutely take everyone in your around his level plus:

Deshaun Watson assuming he doesn't get massages
Daniel Jones
Burrow despite the slow start and its not close
Lawrence you have in both

Debateable:
Geno
Pickett
CJ Stroud
Bryce Young (probably not)
Deshaun I almost put in "at his level"

Daniel Jones LMAO. I spent last weekend in NYC and I promise you not one Giants fan would take Jones over Purdy. They know they'll never win with him at QB.

Burrow...maybe. He's certainly shown he can be a difference maker, but has shown he can be terrible. So I'll give you that one.
Lawrence...meh.

Even with those decisions, you're still around #10.

Geno is not debatable.
Pickett is not debatable.
Stroud...maybe could be debatable eventually, he has better tools but hasn't shown anything yet.
Bryce Young LMAO, we'll see but definitely not right now.

I've watched every game with Purdy and he started out just being what you think he is, complete and utter game manager. But the last half of the games he's started to make throws that were "OK, I see you Brock". Some guy named Joe Montana said he watches his film and the guy just doesn't make bad decisions.

Look at this play vs the Puddle Chickens...(I get that it's incomplete, but that has nothing to do with Purdy):

That is not a "system QB" play. He has enough mobility that he can extend plays and get the extra couple first downs a game that really frustrate a defense.

On top of that, his throws are usually quick, on the spot (hitting the receiver in stride so he can get the YAC) and he reads the defense so freaking quick.

Or this dime to Deebo vs the GIants:

Look at this throw vs Pat Peterson (who by the way said he was going to get multiple picks on him and ended up giving up 2 TDs instead):

Daniel Jones LMAO. I spent last weekend in NYC and I promise you not one Giants fan would take Jones over Purdy. They know they'll never win with him at QB.
He's been sacked 28 times. Purdy 8. His #2 receiver is Wandale Robinson. His RB is injured all the time. Has Barkley played this year?

Put Purdy in that situation. He might be assassinated by a Giants fan. When Barkley is healthy he's pretty good.

Maybe...just maybe Aaron Rodgers knows what a good QB looks like:

A lot of this talk is because coming into last year he was 3rd string. People are justifying he's a starter. He's definitely a starter in the NFL. That makes you a good QB. We're arguing whether he's top 10. He's definitely in the top 1/3.

I just think he's outside the top 10 you think he's inside. Nobody is saying he's a bad QB.

Holy smokes that was a bad call...we shouldn't be in this position, but that was horrendous.

This was bullshit but make a 41 yard FG JFC
