“Obviously Improved Offensive Line Play”

Those are the words out of Scott Frost’s mouth today. I sure hope it’s true!
I am calling BS or Austin was intentionally fucking up.

Not going to rule out Austin fucking up considering he had Nouili as his 5th option at RG and is now our best healthy OL.
  1. Pieper
  2. Banks
  3. Bando
  4. Hixson
  5. Nouili

So how much truth is there to the difference between Raiola and Austin is the scheme? It's getting pounded pretty hard that Raiola teaches more firing off the ball driving blocks, while Austin taught more finesse blocking. I know it's been said on Zatechka's podcast that they were taught to essentially block like they were "shielding" defenders instead of trying to forcefully move defenders. Any reality to that?

Frost did mention it looks like they’re running the 40yd dash when they come off the ball and it’s been a long time since they’ve seen that around there.

Who was deciding who played? Was it Frost or Austin? It was also brought up that Austin & Frost has different ideas on Blocking Schemes for this offense. I remember during Jurgens FR season Austin tried putting in someone else when Jurgens was struggling snapping the ball and Frost made him keep Jurgens out there. Does anyone really know who decides who started/played when Frost was HC/OC? I have heard from 1 source that Frost Decided and another that the Position Coaches decided. It seemed the general consensus was that Frost kinda MicroManaged the offensive side of the ball, and let the DC Chinander handle everything Defense. I did like reading the stories about the rumored heated exchanges between Frost & Austin. That is 2 big boys that I wouldn't want to get into the middle of.

All I know is that our rotations with WR & RB were terrible. Actually could make a case for just about every position on offense, except for maybe with our underutilized TE's.

The fact that Austin only got a job at FAU speaks volumes.

Much like almost the entire Pelini staff either going group of 5 or FCS.

EDIT: Austin is at FIU… even worse than FAU, proves my point even more.

I actually though the golf coach did a good job, especially at identifying dudes and developing them.

Garrison has done well for himself, Beck has done okay, I think Beck takes a lot more crap than he deserved from his time here.

Carl Pelini is a top flight DL coach. He obviously went lower because he's a top flight piece of shit.

I'd take several of those dudes back in a heart beat
- Garrison/Carl especially.

To be honest I think having an OC who can step in and tell Frost “no” or “rethink this” is going to be hugely beneficial.

Chinander apparently has total autonomy over the Defense and it shows.

PS: protect Chin at all costs, if the defense continues where it left off after last season but our offense still shits the bed I hope Turd fires Frost and makes Chin the HC. God damn give me a legit defense and I’ll roll the dice with an OC anyday over the other way around.

Carl getting in trouble for off the field antics was what brought down Bo

I’m convinced that the 2012-14 meltdowns on defense never happen if Carl was allowed to stay.

and I agree with Garrison/Cotton and Fisher were good coaches

My opinion of Barney Cotton totally changed after Pelini was fired and he kept the program running through Bowl season and the bowl game. He handled the media well too, especially given the circumstances. Fucking tip of the cap for life from me and I hated Jake Cotton.

Marvin Sanders when he wasn't a problem off the field was a hell of a DB coach

Was saying this last fall

Last season was crazy, it was Turd’s first year and Turd is Mr Conservative… was never gonna happen. (as I called after week 1 and everybody got mad at me for it/said I was wrong except @Kaladin )

2022 season is a cake walk schedule compared to last year.

You have a new QB but he will almost certainly be a transfer from a power 5 school who has significant experience.

No excuses now. Barring some crazy circumstance… if Nebraska can’t win 8 games next season it’s time to move on.

PS: I never forget who has my back (especially when I turn out to be 100% right but was demonized for it real time) looking back at the Stock or Russia threads is laughable seeing the stupid ass takes from amateurs who think they are smarter than they actually are. (the worst kind of person)

When can we all agree Frost is just a mediocre-bad coach?

Almost every Big 10 coach has had success in their first couple years except for Frost. Indiana, Minnesota, Purdue, Mich St, Maryland…..we should be better than these teams but we’re going on year 5 and hoping it was all the OL coach and QB coaches faults, not the guy in charge.
