I have said 8 wins is what it would take for me to be excited.
6-7 would be ok
anything less would be a shit show.
I frankly see 4 games that should be 2 score plus wins (Illinois, Buffalo, Purdoodoo and FU).
I then see 4 games that should be 1 score games tilted in our favor. (Mich, Sparty, Northwestern and Minnesota).
Then I see 2 games that should be 1 score games tilted in a loss. (Cockeyes and Wisconsin).
Then 2 games we just don't have the horses. (Ohio State and Oklahoma).
You return a ton of experience on defense. You have to feel really good about your DL and DBs. You have 3 guys in your DBs that will be paid to play football next year. You have Jojo and all his experience at OLB. You really like Reimer, Heinrich and Kolorvic at ILB with a few other solid guys behind them. You have Stille who was the 3rd ranked 3tech in pass rush according to PFF (take that fwiw) Casey, Ty, Daniels, Reilly and Nash who all seem like they up and coming.
You return a 4 year starting QB. Who I think will have the most talent around him since his freshmen year.
You feel pretty good about your WRs and TEs. You have a pair of guys who are NFL dudes at TE. Toure who is an NFL dude. Martin and Betts who are elite athletes. Then Manning can be the cherry on top.
You are returning the B1G kicker of the year. You are getting your punter back and you have a pair of walk ons who are basically Adi. That coupled with an investment in special teams coaching with Busch and Dawson.
Shit if we can get some OL play and a RB to emerge we might be pretty dangerous.
Problem is that us getting to 8+ wins requires some positive assumptions......That is something Frost has yet to earn here at Nebraska
