Brad Crawford is clearly a genius and knows what he's talking about.

Pre-spring final record projection: 9-3

Conference finish: 6-3 (three-way tie for third)

Why: There is a path to nine wins (or more) for Nebraska this season if the Huskers are able to establish early momentum with a favorable slate by Big Ten standards and get a boost of confidence under five-star freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola, should he be Matt Rhule's selection to start. The Huskers could be favored in their first seven games prior to a road trip to Ohio State. They only play one opponent ranked inside the preseason top 20. Rhule and his coaching staff need to do everything they can to take advantage of this schedule as a potential dark horse in the conference.

I see it happening.

Let’s face it, we easily could have gotten 4 more wins last year if we had any solid QB play.

We technically have that now, even though they’re not experienced.

But having a healthy Raiola can free up those linebackers and safety on the opposing defense because they will have to be honest due to his accuracy and long bombs. Having them honest opens up our running and short throw game. And having those open means we can sustain drives better.

Probably the only person ITT that's actually done that in real life...or close to it.

It’s so hard to tell because perception isn’t reality schedule wise a lot of the time. Before last year we thought if Rhule got us to a bowl it was coach of the year material, but when the schedule proved to be horrible and we missed a bowl it was a downer. I’m sure Rhule will have a better team this year, but maybe the schedule ends up being a lot tougher and you don’t see major improvement wins-loss wise.
