I honestly don't think we will hear a lot that preseason hype shit this season. Why?
- Nebraska is going into the season with a LOT of proven skill players. That type of media hyperbole is usually the result of above average but inexperienced athletes flashing for a play or two because the rest of the roster is so devoid of talent.
Hell, just two seasons ago, Alex Bullock and Billy Kemp were joining Marcus Washington as the top 3 receivers on the roster. So Jaylen Lloyd, who can actually break a 4.5 forty suddenly turned into this "freakish deep threat." He absolutely looked like he was running at a different speed because he was a lot faster than those 3 trash heap wideouts.
There might be some hype about a player like Mozee or Mills. But it won't represent the desperation of hope that we've grown accustomed to over the years.
I'm staying in wait and see mode. Been burned way too many times. This doesn't influence my thoughts what so ever, and the fall camp thread seemed like a good place to put this. My dad recently played golf with a former Nebraska QB who told him he doesn't think they'll be any better than they were last year. Take it FWIW.
