I bet Kentucky makes a serious run at Brian Hartline. His brother played there. And judging by the contract Stoops had, Kentucky has a ton of money
Actually, didn’t realize that Mike Hartline was actually on staff at UK this year. That actually might make it a bit awkward.

I bet it’s Will Stein.

If I’m Hartline or Stein I think you could hold out another year and get a better job. Same with Colin Klein.

Hartline, Stein and Klein in no particular order I think are the best three coordinator candidates if someone goes that route.

Stein I feel like might want to wait it out for a better SEC or Big Ten job. He’s still really young. He is a Kentucky native however, and his father played at UK.

Sitake to BYU is fascinating to me. I actually think he’s a tremendous coach. His teams play hard as hell, physical, and are always a tough out. Players seem to love him.

That said, coaching at BYU is a different animal. Recruiting to BYU is completely different than recruiting to Penn State.
They’re also using 26 year old freshman who are back from their mission.

What does that bit about Key mean? Did GT stand firm and not offer him a big extension? That’s shocking restraint, given how he’s revived that program.
That's how it reads. I don't know that I believe it but also GT might have just been like bruh we're GT football, we'd pay you more if we could but we can't

Key seems pretty happy at Ga Tech. But if he has another year like this next year….you either hire him and hope he brings the OC or hire his OC Buster Faulkner as your HC.

I know they extended him but Rhule is gonna be on a warm seat next year if Raiola transfers and they don’t adequately replace him. And I don’t think the portal is going to be as robust as they hope. Talent in the portal has gone down every year because teams are doing a better job keeping their talent. Schedule also does zero favors.

Gonna be an interesting 2026 if boosters have actually stepped up with NIL and Rhule doesn’t deliver 8+ wins next year. Would be a shame because it looks like their 2027 class is actually going to be good. But this 2026 class is a disaster.

Jobs I could see open up next year:
Florida St
Kansas St - I really like Kleiman, but if Colin Klein starts showing interest and he only wins 6 games again next year..
Baylor
Michigan
Nebraska
Colorado (how has this one not opened yet!?)
Maryland
Rutgers
South Carolina
Texas (if they don’t make the playoff who knows, beating A&M helps)

If Kalani goes to Penn State, I expect it to go about how Bronco to UVA went.
It was good for a moment. Bronco is a heck of a coach. But he just didn’t seem to fit there.

Sitake has done a good job at BYU..but good enough to justify firing James Franklin? Don’t know about that.
