Theres nothing worse than working your ass off on a deal for months only for you to get into legal and have the lawyers fight back and forth. Last year I was in on a deal where both legal teams got heated, integrity was called out, professionalism was questioned, and ability to do one’s job was as well.

Then it signed and everyone was like best friends. It appears to just be how some people think they should do business.

Can relate. Try getting screamed at for 45 minutes by an Indian (the country) lawyer out of Malaysia for 45 minutes straight. Most unprofessional call I’ve ever been on. Everytime someone from our team would try to respond, would pick right back up yelling again.

I finally yelled over him and told him this call was over and we would be walking from the deal. He was stunned and proceeded to tell me how unprofessional we were for walking away without negotiating. He couldn’t believe we would cut the call.

I let him know we would be glad to meet again when a call could be hosted without yelling and speaking over my team each time they tried to respond and then hung up.

Hate to say it in this way, but I’ve never had a call with someone from India in which their “negotiating” tactics didn’t come off as insults and unhinged.

Yeah, mixed feelings on that one. Obviously the dude was good enough to start at Alabama for the whole season and you have to feel like they'd just bring a better option off the bench if they had one. OTOH, some pretty rough grades last year.
