Agree. Our RB room only has two players that are D1 level with EJ and DD. The recruiting class this year has a solid player from MO and then Booth who just had an injury with ligament tears in his same ankle and knee. If they can buy a transfer they should but it will be tough to balance with the transfer portal. They are a top 15 team (I would think) based on revenue sharing and NIL so that is there to support a move for a big time rb plus Dana showing an improvement with the offense schematics is a big selling point as well.
Agreed. It will be fun to watch that rb develop. It is very young still. Both ej and dd have shown flashes.

I'd go rewatch all the throws he missed this season. They're up 14 last night if he puts it on Lloyd, they're sitting on 6-1 going into Ohio State if he doesn't miss a wide open Lindenmeyer. It's not all his fault obviously, he's not the biggest problem by a country mile, but if he'd take his ball and go home because Nebraska didn't win 9-10, he must not own a mirror

Now go back to watch all the throws he made for us to even be in a position to win down the stretch.

Sure he's probably the reason they won 6 instead 3, but he's also part of the reason they won 6 instead of 9.

I think he did perfectly fine for his freshman year. It was a solid foundation to build off of and have a real good sophomore year, but it wasn't without its warts.

The only game where he really played poorly was UCLA. I could come up with 5-10 other factors that had a much bigger impact on our poor performance this year.

Couple early portal entries it looks like we’re tracking:

Followed by DiMichele and Keith Williams:
Reported offers from Baylor, Houston, GTech, WVU, UCF, Stanford, Texas Tech, among others

Followed by Williams, Barthel, and Mozee
Reported offers from South Carolina, USF, WVU, Duke, UNC, Cal, Arkansas, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Houston, Pitt

2nd one had 12 catchDes last year

Wouldn’t that make him a net +- 0?

He’s good, but he finally has an OC that is not just choosing plays from a phone book. He needs more WR’s he can trust but some of that is also just on Satt.

It’s no coincidence that once Dana came around Banks looked good again. Dana wasn’t just sending him on routes that take 10 seconds to develop. Satt killed Raiola’s confidence. He still takes too long to go through his progressions but that’s understandable for a freshman.

Any insight into potential Huskers to the portal? Have to think we will start seeing a pretty large group rather soon.

No idea but may not hear on a bunch for a while. Putting your name into the portal closes on December 28th. Players don’t have to pick a school at that date just last day to put their name into the portal. Then the spring portal dates are April 16-25. I would guess the obvious gtfo will be December and the borderline will be April as they compete for a spot through spring practices. It may not be a flood this December. Will be interesting to watch for sure.

I thought they got rid of the April window.

The math wasn't intended to be precise, but I guess a freshman QB being an actual net zero would be a win in my book because most are net negatives

I think Dylan is a great QB prospect. I think he showed flashes as to why this year. He's got a great arm and like lots of younger QBs he needs to work at the margins to go from an ok QB to a great QB. And yeah I agree that his success this season was in suboptimal conditions with Satt as his OC with a super dense playbook.

The original post about Dylan being responsible in some way, large or small, for Nebraska not winning 9/10 games was more intended to rebuke the idea that Nebraska needed to reach some win threshold or he'd bounce somewhere else. I think he's invested in the long term project and is willing to put in the work to get where he wants to go

I think with Dylan, too many people had themselves thinking he was about to have some Trevor Lawrence type season his freshman year. All while neglecting the Trevor was surrounded by the peak Clemson talent that they'd ever had. Dylan did a pretty damn good job for a freshman. Had a lull that needs fixed, but showed progress in just 3 games with Holgerson. After a full offseason, he's going to show out really well.
