Georgia...What have teams in CFB learned?
That the Ole Miss, UCF method of spending huge on tons transfers isn't all that good....
....or....
Colorado just flip your roster every year and go for it.....
Indianus bring in a dudes previous team.
Who do you think will follow suit and with which method?
All I know is Kenny Dillingham did was Scott Frost couldn't.What have teams in CFB learned?

I think it should be pretty clear to everyone at this point that the portal is pretty much a crap shoot. Florida St. 2023 and 2024 had basically the same roster building strategies and couldn't be more different. What have teams in CFB learned?

Even with supplementing your roster, I don't think Ohio St. really got the return on its investment after going all in this year. Ole Miss as you pointed out and Miami are other ones that spent big to supplement holes and juice wasn't quite worth the squeeze. Sure it will happen, but buying your way to the playoff or further is looking to have mixed results.I agree.
I think the portal should be used to supplement your roster not your primary method of team building. Especially in Nebraska's situation.
Now if you are Indianus you have nothing to lose by trying a different method, but they can't do that again this year and will have to try something different.
Colorado will probably blow the whole thing up again. Who knows what FSU will try because Norvell is running out of lives.
If we were talking about winning at a high level instead of a mid level, I'd probably agree, but when you give away multiple phases of the game every season, it's not surprise that both Frost and Rhule are at where they're atAll I know is Kenny Dillingham did was Scott Frost couldn't.
Cignetti did what Rhule couldn't.
Maybe it's not the coach as much as it is something behind the scenes at Nebraska.
Nebraskas best transfer in the portal era was the “5 star who didn’t play for shit”..What I've learned is use the portal to get guys with production first and foremost. If a guy had a shit ton of tackles/sacks/catches etc. At the FCS level or G5 level he will be much less of a gamble than the former 5 star who didn't play for shit.
Now look at all the other transfers across the countryNebraskas best transfer in the portal era was the “5 star who didn’t play for shit”..
Assuming that rover spot is something where we'll be looking at the portal to help with, as Gifford is done, and the dude behind him was a freshman apparently not judged to be good enough to be an improvement or get significant PT, even with all of Giff's issues.Kid is a stud and just entered the portal. DiMichele is following him now on Twitter. Go get him.
