I must be looking at something different. I’m seeing

Dowdell: 8th rated RB, 139th out of HS

Lacy: 16th rated RB, 184th overall

Semantics on which one you chose. They are virtually identical at this stage in both of their careers (when dowdell was leaving Oregon and where lacy is now)

You could be right that Lacy is a downgrade, but there is no way to make that claim with any sort of credibility right now. If anything historical performance and historical rankings say it should be a wash

You are correct. But my point to @Hotcarl still stands they are virtually identically rated RBs with vertically identical production. No way you can say one is a downgrade over the other at this point

Dowdell didn’t get really any tds that most rbs should get. He also missed wide open cuts almost 100% of the time. Satt had a love affair with him, but he wasn’t much more than a healthier Gabe and had zero threat in the passing game.

I’d like him to return, but I don’t think Dana will be fighting to keep him like EJ.
