At this point they would have to transfer down. No game film to show off. And both are Husker legaciesYeah we aren’t keeping 11 WRs on the roster.

Why wouldn't we? Its not unheard of for Holgs to go four wide. 11 isn't that much in that case. Thats 2 waves of players and a partial wave of up and comers.Yeah we aren’t keeping 11 WRs on the roster.
They are the taller guys in the room so that might help them? Looks like most of the new guys are around 6'. I guess it comes down to what Dana prefers at WR. On the 2025 roster they do have Jeremiah Jones listed as a WR at 6'5 also.At what point do we need to be on Quinn Clark/Keelan Smith portal watch?
I’m not complaining about this addition in the least, but something’s gotta give numbers-wise eventually.
My best guess is that the 105 roster will roughly comport to the doubled 53 man roster by position. The below numbers work out to 106 so we gotta lose a man somewhere (RB seems most likely to me)Why wouldn't we? Its not unheard of for Holgs to go four wide. 11 isn't that much in that case. I think that's pretty close for the most part. Maybe a few less RB or TE but could vary. I think people underestimate just how many players 105 really is after seeing us carry 150+My best guess is that the 105 roster will roughly comport to the doubled 53 man roster by position. This would suggest
QB: 4
RB: 8
WR: 12
TE: 6
OL: 18
Offense: 48
DL: 18
LB: 14
DB: 20
Defense: 52

The Anatomy of a 53-Man Roster in the NFL
There are so many ways to break down how NFL teams build their roster. Some teams build with youth while others collect veteran players...bleacherreport.com
Of course you don't have to worry about potentially playing all 105 every week so college teams probably have a bit more flexibility in the composition but it doesn't seem like a bad starting point
Or thinking of the 85 limit.I think that's pretty close for the most part. Maybe a few less RB or TE but could vary. I think people underestimate just how many players 105 really is after seeing us carry 150+
Will be interesting to see how things shake out. With the addition of Gilmore, the WR room currently sits at 18, 14 if you subtract out the 4 walk-ons.My best guess is that the 105 roster will roughly comport to the doubled 53 man roster by position. Very raw but omega track speed in a triage class for Rhule. He did a good job, seems like a great kid. Best of luck to himLloyd wasn’t a highly sought after WR in high school as I recall. NU only offered after Rhule got to town. He gave us some much needed help especially last year. Good luck to him.
Carpenter and Terch are listed as athletes. They have to be S/LB development players no?Will be interesting to see how things shake out. With the addition of Gilmore, the WR currently sits at 18, 14 if you subtract out the 4 walk-ons.
If you’re looking to have to cut a couple from that, you’re likely looking at some combination of Doss/Bell/Smith/Clark. Either that or start Carpenter and/or J.Jones over on the defensive side of the ball.

Because we only have 105 spots. Why wouldn't we? Its not unheard of for Holgs to go four wide. 11 isn't that much in that case. Thats 2 waves of players and a partial wave of up and comers.
agreed. Looking at it another way (yes, this isn't perfect as it is not a year's worth of installed DH offense):Because we only have 105 spots.
See above.Because we only have 105 spots.
We played 3 WRs between 415-695 snaps this past season. We played 3 more between 179-222. We played 3 more between 18-82. No one else had double digit snaps over the entire season. Why do we need 11?
I think it is more likely that the scout team guys end up being low-cost/no-cost roster members (i.e., no revenue sharing or NIL, leaving more for upper echelon players) who are not seen as developmental guys who project to be future contributors at Nebraska. It's too expensive now to complete loading the 105 with guys who demand competitive comp but are unlikely to ever play.Scout team (which also = development) & possible special teams.
11 seems like the perfect number.
I agree with what you are saying but I do thing 11 is the right number. We expect 3 in starters, 3 in depth, and 5 in development. Of those 5, every year some will move into depth, some will transfer, and we’ll recruit new players.I think it is more likely that the scout team guys end up being low-cost/no-cost roster members (i.e., no revenue sharing or NIL, leaving more for upper echelon players) who are not seen as developmental guys who project to be future contributors at Nebraska.
