Yes, not long ago, everyone was saying we need to purge the roster and start over. We ended up barely with 6 wins, I don't think to many are must keep guys.
Bingo, I’m a little upset we lost EJ but not going to lose sleep over it by any means. Until proven otherwise these players are only capable of winning 5-6 games a year HERE. They have a mediocre mentality in a lot of them. Hopefully guys like EJ and prince well, who’s overall talent is better than 5-6 wins, can go somewhere that winning will be instilled back into them and we can get some guys in here who have experienced winning even if they aren’t quite as talented as the guys they are replacing.
We are going to have a larger turnover this year but I’m guessing unless we go full NFL style with player contracts this transfer thing is probably going to continue to get worse where we do lose a couple of fan-favorites every season.

Except the Ravens and Eagles are proving that narrative wrong. Good backs are a dime a dozen, but great backs are worth their weight in gold.
There’s always exceptions to rules and Henry is that for now

I’m a firm believer of you never want to give an nfl rb their second contract. So many go down, we’ll see how Saqons body holds up the next 4-5 years of his deal.

Similar to how Ashton Jeanty would be the exception to the rule this year in CFB if the open market.

But EJ isn’t similar to Jeanty or a college equivalent to either nfl back

I'll just say is that Cockeye has had better RB's than Nebraska for a long time. I'm sure a lot of it is our OL and scheme and our defense can't tackle for shit which makes opposing RB's look spectacular, but we don't have a big punishing back like the top BIG or SEC schools do. EJ was a descent back between the 20's, but once in the red zone, we've always switched to Dowdell to punch it in. Maybe that's why EJ moved on or was asked to move on.

Just thinking out loud. The way we are losing guys, why would Raiola hang around, unless this was planned? We had the lowest attrition in the country last year. If we wanted these guys to stay, they would.
That's not at all how this works starting this year. Next year there is a 105 man roster limit. We knew we were losing a lot of people this season. The funniest part is a lot of people thought it would be non contributors on a 6-6 team that left. I like that everyone with ties to the losing culture (Frost guys) are the ones being processed.
