We've got a freshman RB that's gonna run for 2500 yards next season, so maybe EJ doesn't want to just run for 1200 as a backup.

No doubt. Holgerson mentioned in his 2025 class interview that personnel is going to change so much year to year going forward. It will be hard to know where everything is at roster wise until after the xfer portal closes.

He was clearly our best back each of the last two years only to receive sporadic playing time until the end of the season. I don’t blame him one bit for transferring. So dumb he might leave but the guy who sat him this whole time gets to keep coaching RB’s. Just my $0.02
