Here is a question for those here who are close to the program:

Why no portal OL guys?

I think our OL was improved this season but as a national unit, its middle of the pack which translates to below-average in the Big Ten.

Is it because of the (perceived) low number of transfer spots allocated combined with the need for a QB or two?

We have some young talent coming up so maybe there is hope that some of these guys are going to push the two-deep and maybe make a splash next year. But to bring in a rental QB(obviously needed after the shitshow at QB in '23) and not have a plan up front is curious to me unless we really believe we have the guys to take a step forward in 2024.

I think they would take a high quality portal OL guy, but I think the problem is one of supply. Good OL seem to not really hit the portal and when they do, see the URI guy we lost to Oregon last year or Rouse, they have legit options that are frankly better than us

I think the belief is that the offensive line progressed throughout the season and isn’t the weak point in the offense. And you have a good class coming in from high school.
If you x amount of dollars to spend, spend it where you need it most.

because 1) we have 20 scholarships right now on the OL and 2) the OL talent in the portal sucks
Talent that would come to Nebraska sucks you mean?

We wouldn't take Bisontis from A&M? Or even Davis from New Mexico?

I get its mostly scraps from most programs but when there is regime change, then some talent can move.
