Bowl games = money for TV networks no matter how meaningless. They aren’t going anywhere.I wonder if the bowls go bye bye at some point? I’m guessing they will keep extending the playoff even though they don’t need to.

Maybe the two super conferences BiG and SEC can do a crossover bowl game at the end of the year with the teams who don’t make the playoff and who suck. 5 win teams can play each other 4 win teams and so on.I don’t know why the bowls don’t just invite whoever they want at this point regardless of victories. Just make it another regular season game
they're a great way to get a preview of next year's replacement players!
It'll just be larger playoff + meaningless bowls and probably 5-7 will be the new bar until it goes to 4-8 and then they'll decide that maybe every team should get a bowl because tv sponsors like it
that's a more interesting event than Midseason NBA Cup ChampionshipsMaybe the two super conferences BiG and SEC can do a crossover bowl game at the end of the year with the teams who don’t make the playoff and who suck. 5 win teams can play each other 4 win teams and so on.
I’m guessing at some point those next 16 teams will be in the main playoff.Maybe instead of meaningless bowls they should set up a second-tier, NITish tournament for the next 16 teams.
I don't know how many FCS does, but they'll at least get to that numberI’m guessing at some point those next 16 teams will be in the main playoff.
Interesting thought - if we had a 12 team playoff this year and Ohio St was in the playoff, would McCord have jumped in the portal? Almost certainly no, right? Same with Gabriel at Oklahoma. That will be something to watch next year - kids entering the portal after their team is eliminated from the playoff.I’m guessing at some point those next 16 teams will be in the main playoff.
we'll certainly see players from the losing semifinalists enter the last day the portal is open (Jan 2)Interesting thought - if we had a 12 team playoff this year and Ohio St was in the playoff, would McCord have jumped in the portal?
