2021 Husker Baseball Thread (Big 10 Champions)

Long ways to go this year and pitching wise. We weren’t gonna be a 1-loss conference team. Really didn’t like how the bats went almost completely to sleep after the first inning. No activity on the base paths like at all.

Here's a pretty good article (pre-season) and breakdown of the Big Ten baseball landscape.

Ohio State is lauded for bringing back a pretty talented pitching staff and isn't a bad loss.

I think some of the concerns pointed out so far are in the article and what's played out in the season, does Nebraska have enough starting pitching? Can the young starters become consistent i.e. Povich and Schanaman?

Another aspect I'll be interested in is how does Nebraskas lineup adjust to quality starting pitching?

Cockeye leads 3-0 heading into the bottom of the 3rd.

4th inning and Huskers still don't have a hit.

Rough day for the Huskers. Pitchers have struggled and we can't hit the ball.

Cockeye 9 hits, Nebraska 0 hits.

Cockeyes has a good team. We are apparently having an off day.

Down 3-1 going into the 9th.

Pretty bad luck in that inning there. Should have been 3-2 with no outs and a runner on second base. Instead, the fatty at first for Cockeye makes the play of his life and its 2 outs with nobody on.

Nedved is horrible for Cockeye here. Hopefully we can put a charge into one in the bottom of the inning.

It just hasn't been our day. Can't believe they are out hitting us like they are.

Nice to see Wynne getting some outs though.

Huskers lose and are now 5-3 on the year.
