Gary Sharp

I would love for him to get back with Benning on Hurrdat. No offense to Ravi, but Sharp was able to get Damon out of his cryptic loops and keep things moving. Ravi just gets railroaded by Benning.
Sounds gay

Does anyone think this could've been a Gary Sharp decision? Meaning he wasn't jibing with McMaster...or 1620 was trying to change the vibe and direction of his show.

I did notice in the last few months he seemed to ask questions that would be considered more stirring the pot; which seemed off-base (and uncomfortable) for Gary. I'm wondering if the station took him away from he excelled at it pertains to what they were asking him to say and talk about.
It never felt natural with Matt, but Gary and DB was the best.

People don’t want to say it, cause he played for the Huskers in the 90s and he’s a positive member of the Omaha community. But Benning is flat out TERRIBLE on the radio, always has been. Talks too slow and quiet, so you can never get the volume right. Just speak into the mic Damon and stop trying to sound all cool and smooth. Also stop looking up words on google to use on air, it so obvious and awkward. Lastly, you don’t need a 3 page dissertation to make every point, you already talk slow enough. Eventually people lose interest in what you’re saying because you drone on and on taking forever to make your point when everyone completely understood exactly what you were getting at 5 minutes ago.

He seems like a good dude, so eviscerating his radio skills and style isn’t fun. But I just can’t pretend like everyone else that he isn’t just the worst. Don’t think it would matter who he is with, it hasn’t so far.
Haha it's funny that you feel so strongly about this and assume most people must agree about it, but I feel like he's clearly one of the best in the biz! (I mean, it's a low bar around here, but still). I think he's gotten way better over the years with the meandering tendencies, and I think he has a great rapport with Ravi. Just funny how preferences can be so different with this type of stuff.

THAT BEING SAID, I only listen to maybe 1-2 podcast segments per day, only when I'm interested in the topic/guest. There's no way I could ever listen to any of these guys for 4 hours straight on the radio or whatever.
