He did only play in 7 games this season due to an injury. So, take that into account when looking at stats. Is good?
lol I read your post wrong. My bad. They wish they had my spreadsheet
Agreed. We really can’t afford to miss on big financial swings, especially at that position.I’d actually be pretty hesitant to spend “a very big number” on an oft-injured guy who won’t be available for spring ball and has played fewer than 300 snaps in his career.
On these guys you pay per poundFrom Dean:

HuskerOnline can confirm UCF defensive tackleHorace Lockett is indeed visiting Nebraska. The 6-foot-6, 355-pound Grant has played in just four games over the last two seasons.
In 2025, Lockett played 113 snaps in four games, logging an 85.2 grade on PFF. He did not play in 2024. Grant came to UCF from Georgia Tech, where he played a combined 171 snaps over the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
A source with knowledge of Lockett's recruitment told me he's "asking for a "very big number" as Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, South Carolina and others are involved.
He's expected to miss most, if not all, of the spring with an upper-body injury that took him out for the season following Central Florida's Week 5 game at Kansas State.”

he thinks every Horace is Horace Grant? From Dean:

The time for projects has passed need production over potential at this point.Agreed. We really can’t afford to miss on big financial swings, especially at that position.
Your spreadsheet has the visitors? I went to look but I didn't see them. They wish they had my spreadsheet
Definitely a tight rope to walk though because they can't end up with a DL/Edge situation like they had this yearThe time for projects has passed need production over potential at this point.
I think you have to take some of both. Especially at spots where we are taking multiple. You can get more for you money this way and build some depth. The time for projects has passed need production over potential at this point.
Maybe I'm just too simple for all this but shouldn't the "strategy" be buy the best players our money can buy at each position? Worked out well for Oregon and Texas Tech. Sure it would be nice to be able to Cignetti and find three stars and turn them into future high draft picks but really we don't have that kind of eye for talent on staff so lets not try to be the smartest team during the portal season because we aren't.Definitely a tight rope to walk though because they can't end up with a DL/Edge situation like they had this year
If they bring some young guys in from the portal I'm good with potential but most of the portal guys need to have some production especially with the money that's being thrown around.Definitely a tight rope to walk though because they can't end up with a DL/Edge situation like they had this year
The Horace Grant error was amazing. And that he kept calling him "Grant".he thinks every Horace is Horace Grant?
The upper body injury is a surgically repaired pec. The 2023-4 injury was his hand.
