This is an extremely good question. If he’s always been this great coach, wouldn’t Saban, of all people, hooked him with something better than Indiana?I wonder why Saban never tried hooking Cignetti up with decent head coaching job?

Think about it. Mike Locksley ended up getting a better job after leaving Bama and he sucks. Cignetti ended up at IUP after Bama. If Saban liked Curt I would have thought he could have pushed to get him a lot better job. This is an extremely good question. Exactly. My initial reaction when Moore got fired was Deboer. I don’t have that strong of feeling anymore, but if it is, I don’t see any chance of Cigs getting the call to come to Bama. I don’t think Saban would ever allow it. Two large egos in the same building never works out.Think about it. Mike Locksley ended up getting a better job after leaving Bama and he sucks. Michigan should have fired Moore last year and went after Cignetti. It wont happen now. Indiana and MSU will probably be big beneficiaries of Michigan shitting the bed unless they salvage things with a good coach. I could still see Deboer jetting to Michigan if Bama gets whooped next weekend. Deboer is a good coach, but I bet he ends up getting fired within the next 2-3 years. 9-3 at Michigan isn’t as pressurized as 9-3 at Bama.Exactly. My initial reaction when Moore got fired was Deboer. Plus Sark is a Saban guy which is why I think they hire him If all this chaos comes to fruition, which I hope it does. I would love to see Texas fall apart…potentially.
Cig was a WR coach and Recruiting Coordinator under Saban. Locksley was an OC with previous HC experience. Saban isn’t pushing position coaches to be P4 HCs no matter how good he thinks he is.Think about it. Mike Locksley ended up getting a better job after leaving Bama and he sucks. 2-26 at New Mexico was pretty impressive for Locksley. It still amazes me some of these coaches keep getting recycled, but I totally get the rest of your point.Cig was a WR coach and Recruiting Coordinator under Saban. My guess is Cig didn’t want to “climb the ladder” as a P4 coordinator and wanted to start running his own program as a HC and IUP happened to be the level of school that would take that chance at the time.
Kind of feels like a Bill Stewart to Dana Holgorsen force out.
Rumors are Whittingham was strongly against the private equity deal as well. It could have played a factor in his sudden resignation.Kind of feels like a Bill Stewart to Dana Holgorsen force out.
That be an incredible short term bridge hire for UM
I have also emailed Halle Berry to let her know I'm interestedThat be an incredible short term bridge hire for UM
If this is true and they forced a coach that has been in involved in their program for 32 years, that is absolutely asinine.Rumors are Whittingham was strongly against the private equity deal as well. It could have played a factor in his sudden resignation.
Suddenly the Utah head coach had a bunch of new bosses and they weren't the AD or the chancellor. If this is true and they forced a coach that has been in involved in their program for 32 years, that is absolutely asinine.
These private equities are just going create real shareholders compared to big donors who are gonna play an even larger role in programs. Definitely gonna have too many hands in the pot trying to cook.
