So, I guess that you could say it's always Butler's fault if you believe he knows with certainty what the other team will run in advance every play.

I’m really starting to believe that if we get JoBu the players he can not only be a very good DC, but potentially elite. Like top 10 nationally in relevant statistical categories. I’m not quite there yet, but damn I’d like to see what he can do with an elite DL. 🙏🏻😍🙏🏻

It’s really hard to play LB (stopping the run) when your dline can’t eat blocks and you have 300Ib offensive lineman on you instantly. Our LBs aren’t perfect by any means, there’s been bad angles, wrong gaps, bad reads etc… But I’d sure like to see what it looks like with a dominant DL. Might totally change people’s opinion on our LB play.

Some teams yes, others no. Cockeye and Wisconsin have had elite offensive and defensive lines for the last 15-20 years. And neither had an elite TEAM any of those years. So, it’s not as black and white as that IMO.

For sure, but impact of QB scrambles are hard to quantify and even more difficult to coach against with any consistent formulaic method. A quarterback who’s a good scrambler/runner can make the best defenses look silly, undisciplined and out of position at times. We were within inches of getting Nico about 5-6 times and he just slipped away and made a play.

Think about how shitty UCLA would be without Nico 😳

Nico was a 5-Star so obviously skilled. Just wasn't a good fit with what Tennessee wanted to do, hence the transfer.

It wasn’t so much about the fit, but the way Nico and his family tried holding them hostage for a lot more money, so Tennessee said fuck off.

Yeah classic overplaying your hand. If he's as good as he thinks he is, he wouldn't be that worried about NIL because he'd be staring a fat rookie deal in the face, but now he's poorer on a shittier team and probably coming back for another year of playing school

Well, to be somewhat historically accurate, off the top of my head…

Nico had agreed to something around 1.5 million with Tennessee. Then during spring practice he decided (at the behest of his dad/agent, same person) to demand something around 4 million. Tennessee said no, some rumored they came back with a 1.9 million offer. Either way, Nico decided “hold out” and not attend practice or answer phone calls from his coaches.

So Heupal cut his ass and put him in the portal. Boom bitch! Nico ended up taking his best offer after that which was $800k from UCLA.

Side note: Tennessee went to the playoffs with Nico as true freshman. They won’t go to the playoffs this year, without Nico.

Yeah, I forgot about all that. I was just going off of what Tim said recently in his preview of the game. But still a skilled player nevertheless.
