I like it… Terrence is an extremely athletic and highly coveted recruit out of Valley Christian High. He clocked an electronic 4.3 forty, his mom died of a crack overdose when he was 12 and he has a 41” vertical.

He's been pretty awful. Not sure what they saw there. When they made a big deal about it, I assumed we had another Bullock caliber player on the roster.

Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule​

***Rhule said Michigan State ran a pro-style offense, and quarterback Aidan Chiles did “all the pro-style things” and was “a thinking man’s quarterback, which I respect.” However, Rhule added that Chiles was a “dynamic” runner and NU expects to see plenty of designed QB runs.

***Rhule spent most of the bye weekend recruiting. After watching some other college games, though, Rhule’s message to the Huskers was that “there’s way more parity than ever before,” and “what’s your mindset” going into every game.

With so many close games that came down to the final play, and every player “needed to chase their own play.”

***Rhule said Nebraska had “a really good plan” at running back, though he wouldn’t share any details about “that clarity” behind starter Emmett Johnson.

***Rhule said Nebraska “went good-on-good” over the bye week in practice. A major focus was on stopping the run and protecting the pocket. The only way to work on those things was playing ‘real football.”

***Rhule said Malcolm Hartzog was “doubtful” to play vs. Michigan State. He’s not ruled out, but Rhule said the defensive back was unlikely to play vs. Michigan State.

***Another message Rhule had for his team last week was that “no one feels sorry for you” after a loss like Michigan. “There’s no time to wallow in self-pity.”

Looking ahead to Michigan State, and any changes at tackle?​

***Rhule called Michigan State’s Ryan Eckley “an NFL punter,” which would make it even more important for Jacory Barney and NU’s return team to make good decisions. However, he doesn’t want Barney and Co. playing timidly. “We’re here to play football.”

***Rhule said Nebraska’s extended homestand has “been great” for the team to get into a routine. At the end of the day, though, it doesn’t matter where or when you play if you’re not prepared.

***Rhule said there were “definitely” some freshmen he’d like to see more of going forward. He named guys like Isaiah Mozee, Quinn Clark, Rex Guthrie, and Cortez Mills in that group.

***Rhule said the offensive line was “a good group” that “hit a bad day” against Michigan. He pointed to Nebraska scoring 14 points in “crucial time” at the end of the first half and the fourth quarter. However, there were times when the unit obviously wasn’t good enough.

He expects the o-line to “come out swinging” against Michigan State.

***Rhule said Nebraska “clarified a little bit what we’re going to do” at both offensive tackle spots over the bye week, but he declined to say whether there would be any changes. He thinks NU had a “good idea” of what those positions will look like going forward.
